it's amazing how ordinary objects can become so significant to only the owner
when my aunt's best friend passed away, my younger brother was four years old. at his funeral, my brother went up to her and gave her a nickel. he told her very solemnly that it would make her feel better. she smiled for the first time in days, and tucked it in her wallet.
when my brother was 22, his best friend passed away unexpectedly. my aunt drove three hours to be there for him at the funeral. she went up to my brother, gave him a big hug, and then gave him a nickel. it was the same nickel; she had kept it in her wallet for 18 years, and now it's on a necklace that he never takes off.
what i'm trying to say is that the love you put into the world will always find its way back to you.

I think it's funny to think that Damian is one of the last guesses when people get asked which is Bruce's bio kids.
Like- only gothamites know which is the bio kid. Think about it, a gothamite asks someone from metropolis who is the bio son of this tall white man with straight black hair and blue eyes, very muscular figure. It's either:
Slightly tan guy with blue eyes and black hair with a slight wave. Who is tall and lean.
White man with black hair and green eyes, built like a tank and towering over most.
White man with straight black hair and blue eyes, and short.
A black kid.
A Chinese girl.
A boy with brown skin, black hair and green eyes.
things all the robins were ready for when they began crime fighting: guns, getting shot at, being held at gunpoint
what none of the robins were ready for: 220+ lbs of one Bruce Thomas Wayne jumping on top of them and shielding them whenever bullets start flying
what batman was not ready for: flinging his entire 220+ lbs self at his baby in a defensive rugby tackle but his baby is now also a 220+ lbs motherfucker and everyone has a concussion

I don’t unfortunately, nor do I have the links to all the posts :( I’m hesitant to blatantly cry plagiarism because it’s a serious accusation, but some of SJ/M’s most famous lines and plots bear incredible likeness to a lot of other well-known works and fantasy series. I can’t name them all because I haven’t read or watched all the source material other antis have cited, and I don’t have exact page numbers. However, this is the best I can do with my own observations, ebooks, and the internet:
Harry Potter
- “Light can be found in even the darkest of hells” is spoken in AC0WAR. “Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light” is spoken by Dumbledore in the Prisoner of Azkaban.
- “Pity those who don’t feel anything at all” is spoken in AC0TAR. “Pity the living and above all, those who live without love” is spoken by Dumbledore in the Deathly Hallows.
- This article explains a lot of the similarities between the end of E0S and the end of the Deathly Hallows. The author goes into way more detail, with quotes from HP and T0G, but tl;dr they basically say that throughout all the T0G books, Elena has saved Alien’s life and has been raising her to sacrifice herself to fulfill a prophecy. In the Deathly Hallows, Dumbledore has saved Harry’s life and has been raising him to sacrifice himself to fulfill a prophecy. Because Dorian shares ancestry with Alien, he is an alternative who could be sacrificed to fulfill the prophecy. Because Neville and Harry were both born at the end of July to parents who fell victim to Voldemort, Neville is an alternative who could have been sacrificed to fulfill the prophecy. Nehemia is revealed in Elena’s Mirror to have also sacrificed herself so Alien could be ready for what needs to be done. Snape is revealed in his Pensieve to have also sacrificed himself so Harry could be ready for what needs to be done. Maeve is an all-powerful villain with dark forces on her side. Voldemort is an all-powerful villain with dark forces on his side.
A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones
- @immersed-in-books made a post a few days ago: Daenerys Targaryen, G0T 6.09: “Our fathers were evil men. All of us knew they left the world worse than they found it. We’re not going to do that; we’re going to leave the world better than we found it.” In AC0WAR, the Suriel tells Fayre, “Leave this world… a better place than how you found it.”
- In E0S, Alien is referred to as “The Queen Who Was Promised.” In AS0IAF, “The Prince Who Was Promised,” also known as “Azor Ahai,” is a legendary figure prophesied to reincarnate and save Westeros from another Long Night.
- In E0S and T0D, Chaol is referred to as Dorian’s “Hand of the King.” In AS0IAF and G0T, the “Hand of the King” is a term that as far as I know was coined by GRRM to describe basically a Westerosi king’s first and most trustworthy advisor/assistant, and POV characters such as Ned Stark and Tyrion Lannister take on the title throughout the books and the show.
- In T0D, Chaol and Nesryn must cross the Narrow Sea to get to the city Antica on the southern continent. In AS0IAF, the Narrow Sea is the body of water between the western continent Westeros and the eastern continent Essos.
- In T0D, southern noble Khagan Sartaq commands an army of brown-coded people who ride on winged cavalry. In AG0T, eastern horselord Khal Drogo commands an army of Dothraki, people of color who ride horses. I haven’t read all of T0D, so I can’t be more specific but they seem to be pretty similar according to other anti posts I’ve seen.
Disney
- “You could rattle the stars,” “Let’s go rattle the stars,” and other variants are spoken throughout the T0G series. In Treasure Planet, John Silver tells Jim “You’re gonna rattle the stars, you are.”
- This passage in E0S…
“‘But it seems like tonight isn’t really your night,’ Elide said to the ilken, lifting the hatchet again over a shoulder. The ilken might have been whimpering as she smiled grimly. ‘Because it only takes one to deliver a message. And your companions are already on their way.’
The axe fell.
Flesh and bone and blood spilled onto the stones.”
- … compared to this scene in Mulan (2:36-2:48)
Shan Yu: How many men does it take to deliver a message?
The other Hun: One.
The Hun proceeds to shoot one of the imperial soldiers with an arrow.
The 100
- In Q0S, Alien says, “You make me want to live, R0wan. Not survive; not exist. Live.” In The 100, 4.02:
Clarke: Don’t you want us to survive, Jasper?
Jasper: Nah, I don’t want us to survive. I want us to live.
All the T0G/AC0TAR quotes are from the first page of quotes cited from SJ/M’s books on Goodreads, but there are over 100 pages and I’m sure if you go through all of them you’ll find more eerily familiar quotes. I haven’t finished reading/watching Lord of the Rings, and have never read the Last Unicorn, but I’ve seen other posts claiming that T0G and AC0TAR draw a lot of lore and quotes from those series. Hope that helps, and anyone feel free to add on!

Aaaaaall the Black Jewels stuff that I’m slowly compiling.
FUCK YES I AM SO EXCITED FOR THAT
Saw this post by @queenaryastark and just wanted to add my two cents in spite of the problem always having been that people just want things to be what works better for them and "to make sense" in a simplified way and don't want to hear otherwise-
There are a very few things known about Elia Martell - that the author finds relevant enough to even share with us about a small background character - and yet one of those few things is that she had a good relationship with her arranged husband (political, non-romantic and all, "complex", but he took the time to outline that it was not one of those cases when these things have negative connotations). The only other relationship I can think of that he finds relevant enough to be known the quality of is that with her brothers - because it is a key element to the Dornish plot, no less. And he places her dynamic with Rhaegar beside it!
I haven’t watched Miraculous Ladybug is such a long time that anytime I see literally anything from the show on TikTok I’m so thrown off because I’m just over like “since when did this happen?” And I wanna know what happened but I also know that the likelihood of me actually watch the show again is low anyways I hear there is a movie now?
